About the event
We need many helping hands to kick off Phase 1 installation of our educational garden at the Extension Office. Teams will work to edge bed, cover entire turf surface with cardboard and finally spread 3 - 4" of compost over entire bed. Likely we can finish on day 1 but 2 days are scheduled just in case we run out of time or have a rain delay. Pizza lunch with be provided. Please bring large spade or moon shaped tool to assist with edging, gloves and knee pads. Call Janet or Linda with any questions. Once bed is composted it will sit fallow for 2.5-3 months before tilling compost into top 6 - 8" and then planting, targeting late April/early May. Overall design, budget & milestones will be posted at the Extension Office. Our pollinator bed will be 100% natives/nativars and approximately 1100 square feet.
